Olebogeng Sentsho

Chief Executive Officer
Simba Mgodi Mining Incubation Fund

“Olebogeng Sentsho is an entrepreneur with interests in mining and energy.
Mrs. Sentsho is an alumni of the 2017 Mandela Washington Fellowship, the flagship programme
for the Young African Leaders Initiative, run by the US State department and she
holds an LLB degree from Wits and is currently completing her Msc. in Mining Engineering
at the University of the Witwatersrand.
She is the Chief Executive Officer at The Simba Mgodi Mining Incubation Fund, a development
fund that supports emerging entrepreneurs in Mining and mining services.
Mrs Sentsho believes that a more structured and Afro-centric approach to mining will grow
the African economy and enable Africa to benefit from the minerals it rightfully owns.
Serving as the finance champion on the Deputy Minister of Mineral Resource’s Technical
Secretariat for the evolution of Funding Models for Junior Miners in South Africa, Olebogeng
has both the technical and financial knowledge of the intricacies of funding junior
miners. Her law background gives her a unique edge as it allows her to structure deals
with precision; cognisant in mining, law and finance.
A recipient of the inaugural “Outstanding woman in Mining Award” at the Youth in Mining
Business awards in 2016, the Winner of the “Leaders of Tommorow” Award at the 2019
Mining Indaba, The Head of the Mining and Technical Engineering Services Sector at the
Progressive Youth in Business Organisation and the National Convenor of the 2019 Youth
in Mining Procurement Transformation Summit, Olebogeng is passionate about investment,
the African economy, mining and socially responsible business practices.
Olebogeng’s short term career objective is to catalyse the creation of South Africa’s tertiary
mining industry: where the industry will interact directly with raw minerals and benefiate
them. Her long term career objective is to create other industrialists throughout Africa who
share the vision of a prosperous and economically active continent driven by Africans for
Africans.
Mrs Sentsho has been featured on ENCA, Power FM, North West FM, Motsweding FM
CNBC AFRICA and she has served as a guest lecturer for the Master of Management
class of 2017 on new Venture creation and entrepreneurship at the University of the Witwatersrand
Business School.
She has served at a Speaker at:
