Dr. Simon Handelsman is an international minerals development engineer and advisor with open pit and underground mining experience. Working for the United Nations Mineral Resources Group a hundred-plus advisory missions took him to over forty developing countries during ten years.
He was chairman of the 1st CIM Risk Management in Mining Symposium, Vancouver, Canada. His many publications include those with a focus on issues faced by the mining industry. He was a guest lecturer at both New York University and Columbia University, and is an Adjunct Professor in the mining department at UBC. Simon is a consultant to, among others, the construction and mining department at a leading global independent wholesale, reinsurance and specialist retail insurance broker.
