Almasane Alkobra Mining Company AMAK

Almasane Alkobra Mining Company (AMAK) is one of Saudi Arabia’s pioneering mining companies and a key driver of the Kingdom’s minerals future. Established in 2008 and listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange in March 2022, AMAK is the Kingdom’s largest 100% publicly listed mining company, producing copper, zinc, gold, and silver in commercial volumes, and continues to expand its operations in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Since beginning commercial production in 2012 with copper and zinc concentrates at its flagship Al Masane Mine, AMAK has steadily broadened its portfolio. Gold and silver production commenced in 2018, followed by the commissioning of the Guyan Gold Mine in 2021. In 2024, the company completed its Moyeath processing plant at Al Masane, boosting total ore processing capacity to 1.2 million tonnes per year. With this expansion, AMAK’s combined annual production ranges between:
25–35 kt of copper concentrate
60–80 kt of zinc concentrate
30–40 koz of gold doré and ~5 koz of Au in concentrates
~550 koz of silver in doré and concentrate.
In 2025, AMAK accelerated its growth and now holds 2 mining leases, 2 additional mining leases under application, and 25 exploration licenses, including those recently awarded through the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources’ bidding rounds. These licenses cover base metals, precious metals, and industrial minerals, significantly expanding the Company’s commodity portfolio and exploration holding within the Kingdom to underpin future growth. Several flagship projects are also underway, including the Khutainah Gold Project, the Nuham Iron Ore Project, and the transition to underground mining at the Guyan Gold Mine to future develop the Kingdom’s rich mineral endowment.
AMAK is equally committed to sustainability and innovation. The company is connecting its facilities to the national electricity grid to significantly reduce diesel consumption and carbon emissions, expanding dry tailings storage, and embarking on a significant water efficiency project to reduce raw water consumption at its operations by 30 % to ensure safe and responsible operations. These initiatives strengthen AMAK’s environmental stewardship and align with international best practices.
Strategic investments and sustained operational growth have translated into robust financial performance in 2025. The company delivered a significant surge in profitability, with first-half results showing strong year-on-year growth in both sales and net income. These outcomes reaffirm AMAK’s resilience, solid fundamentals, and capacity to create sustainable long-term value.
Looking ahead, AMAK seeks to capture new opportunities while placing strong emphasis on extending mine life and increasing mineral reserves. The company is undertaking extensive exploration and expansion efforts, with several programs aimed at discovering new deposits and sites to strengthen its operations and open broader opportunities for future growth. At the core of its priorities is the promotion of sustainable mining practices, alongside reinforcing its position as a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s mining sector. With a clear growth strategy, a robust asset base, and a steadfast commitment to empowering communities, AMAK continues to build a lasting legacy within the Kingdom.
