Queensland Resources Council

The Queensland Resources Council is an apolitical, not-for-profit, peak industry association that supports the long-term sustainability of the minerals and energy sector in Queensland. This includes promoting the industry and engaging with government on behalf of coal, metal and gas explorers, producers and suppliers. QRC’s expert policy team advocates on behalf of members in the key areas of health and safety, environment, land access, skills, education, and diversity and inclusion.  QRC also offers exclusive access to member-only events with government representatives and key stakeholders, and hosts a series of high-profile industry events throughout the year. QRC membership puts your company at the forefront of policy development for Queensland’s resources sector and ensures you have a strong and informed voice in the future direction of your industry. 

QRC also has an education arm, the Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA). It is largely funded by members, with some funding also provided through the Queensland Government’s Gateway to Industry Schools Program. The QMEA delivers hands-on workshops, camps and skill development programs to high school students at 100 schools throughout Queensland each year. This initiative is part of an industry strategy to encourage more young people to consider a trade or tertiary pathway into a career in the resources sector to ensure an ongoing skills pipeline for our industry.  The Queensland Exploration Council (QEC) is the QRC’s exploration arm and focuses on investment attraction and promotion of the exploration industry. QEC membership also provides exploration companies with access to policy advice as well as regular networking events and sponsorship opportunities.
