Jessica Farrell is currently the Asset President for BHP’s Nickel West business in Western Australia, a fully integrated mine to market nickel business which supplies nickel to the battery materials industry.   

Jess has worked within the mining industry for over 15 years. Prior to her role as Asset President, Jessica was General Manager for BHP Iron Ore’s Integrated Planning and Remote Operations in Western Australia; accountable for the safety and operational leadership, scheduling and planning of BHP’s entire iron ore supply chain in WA.

Jessica’s previous roles have included General Manager Port and Marine Operations within Rio Tinto, Manager Business Transformation, Mining Executive, Mine Services Manager, and Senior HR Manager - Strategic Initiatives for Copper and Principal Advisor Organisational Effectiveness. 

Jessica is a Director on the Nickel West Board and is an appointed member on the Executive Council of the Chamber of Minerals and Energy Western Australia.

Jessica holds Bachelor degrees in Business and Arts and has undertaken a number of post-graduate studies through INSEAD, Duke, London Business School and IMD across Australia, Singapore, France, the United States and Switzerland. 

Jessica grew up in Perth, Western Australia where she currently resides with her husband, Nathan and their two children, Isabelle and William.

About Nickel West
Nickel West is a fully integrated mine-to-market business comprising of open-cut and underground mines, concentrators, a smelter and refinery, all located in Western Australia. The integrated business adds value throughout the nickel supply chain, with saleable products including nickel matte, nickel powder, nickel briquettes and nickel sulphate. Over 90 per cent of Nickel West’s production is now sold to the battery materials industry for the production of the lithium-ion batteries that drive electric cars.
