Brian Bero LLM GAICD is Associate Professor at The Mabo Centre, and Principal of Jaramer Legal.
He is one of Australia’s most senior and respected First Nations commercial lawyers; having worked as Associate at both the Supreme Court of Victoria and Federal Court, solicitor for VGSO and Gilbert+Tobin, and legal counsel at Qantas, Telstra and Oracle.
As a Meriam man, he is passionate about First Nations economic empowerment. He was awarded Senior First Nations Lawyer of the Year (2024) and QUT’s Outstanding Alumni Award (2025).
Brian is a Director for Indigenous Business Australia, Advisor to ARENA, Advisor to DFAT First Nations Trade and Investment Unit, and committee member for the Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies at Monash University as well as the First Nations Clean Energy Network.
