Graduated in 1985 from the University of Glasgow with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and in 1989 obtained a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Sheffield. He benefits from more than 30 years investment experience specializing on natural resources. He started his career with major investment banks in the City of London before setting up Sector Investment Managers Ltd in 2004 as a specialist in earlier stage development situations.

Before setting up Sector Investment Managers, he most recently worked with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development where he was responsible for some of the bank’s equity investments in Russia and the CIS.
