Mr. Mnisi is responsible for leading a team of approximately 1500 people, ensuring the functions of the employer with regards to managing mining operations and maintaining safety output of employees and contractors, whilst maintaining relationships with various stakeholders e.g. Eskom, Unions, Municipality, local communities and the Department of Minerals Resources and Energy. He has led a mining team that delivered record performance in contractor performance and mine performance.
Prior to his latest assignment to Leeuwpan, he was the Manager Business Optimisation for Exxaro Coal responsible for coal business strategy formulation and implementation, digitalisation and innovation, and operational excellence. Where he led a team that delivered 5% Year on Year improvements and two approved coal business strategies at Exxaro. Exxaro is currently the lowest cost producer and achieved excellent performance even during the challenging COVID period.
Pleasure Mnisi, is an Industrial Engineer, with an MBA from GIBS. Over the past 12 years he has gained technical, operational and leadership experience from Anglo American and Exxaro resources working in various Business Optimisation, Strategic and Mining roles at different operations globally.
He also gained five years experience in manufacturing as a World Class Manufacturing Facilitator at Gypsum-Saint Gobain, Shift- Production Manager at PFG Building Glass and Industrial Engineer at Afrox. Improved production by 50% at Afrox Gas and 30% at Saint Gobain Gypsum with no capital injection.
