Student-Built Hydrogen Race Car Returns to Resourcing Tomorrow 2025

The student team will showcase their race-ready, hydrogen-powered car and share its implications for the future of clean energy and sustainable mining.

After debuting at Jack’s Casino Racing Day, the Forze IX has proven its high-performance capabilities. Building on last year’s display of the Forze VIII, the team returns with a tangible demonstration of how hydrogen technology is evolving from concept to track-ready reality.

Beyond the track, their work sends a strong message to the mining and resources sector: by showcasing hydrogen technology in high-performance racing, Forze Hydrogen Racing illustrates the critical role mining plays in enabling the next generation of sustainable energy solutions.

The student-led team from TU Delft, which designed and built the world’s fastest hydrogen-powered race car, will display the Forze IX on the Resourcing Tomorrow show floor. Their journey offers a compelling case study in innovation, showing how hydrogen solutions can scale from motorsport to industrial applications in energy, transportation, and mining.

"I am excited to be part of Resourcing Tomorrow in the capital of the United Kingdom. It's a fantastic opportunity to share how our student-based team is pushing boundaries, to connect with industry leaders and to showcase the innovative spirit that drives the future of sustainable motorsport and innovative hydrogen technology forwards. Events like this are where ideas and partnerships come to life, and I look forward to the conversations and collaborations ahead," said Di-Kun Ma, Operations Manager at Forze Hydrogen Racing.

“We are delighted to have Forze Hydrogen Racing back,” said Nick Rastall ⚡, Portfolio Director for Resourcing Tomorrow. “They are a living example of how passion and innovation can drive practical solutions for a more sustainable future. Their work vividly illustrates the end-use of the critical minerals our industry provides, making them an inspiration for all attendees.”

With more than 2,000 participants from over 100 countries, Resourcing Tomorrow provides a platform to foster the partnerships needed to advance the global energy transition. Attendees will witness the innovation shaping a sustainable future and forge the connections to make it happen.
