Altamira Gold is focused on the exploration and development of gold projects within western central Brazil. The Company was the first mover in the gold prolific Alta Floresta Belt which historically produced an estimated 7 to 10Moz of placer gold and holds 8 projects comprising approximately 190,000 hectares, with neighbors which include Anglo American, Codelco and Nexa.
The Company’s portfolio includes three world class projects:
Tha Apiacas project historically produced over 1Moz of placer gold and was the largest placer gold camp in the Alta Floresta belt. The bulk of the historic placer production came from the Mutum target. Recent surface sampling and mapping has identified disseminated gold mineralization over 4 sq. km. Drilling is current in progress at Mutum.
The Santa Helena project is located 60km SW of Anglo American’s Jaca copper porphyry discover and contains highly anomalous copper values in surface rock samples over an area 5km across. It also contains bonanza grade gold values in surface rock samples up to 171.6 g/t gold over several square km.
The Company’s advanced Cajueiro project has current NI 43-101 resources of 5.66Mt @ 1.02 g/t gold for a total of 185,000 oz in the Indicated Resource category, and 12.66Mt @ 1.26 g/t gold for a total of 515,000oz in the Inferred Resource category, with significant expansion potential along strike and down dip.
The current resource area corresponds to only 1% of the project area and approximately 80% of the known gold-in-soil anomalies have yet to be drilled, including the recently identified Maria Bonita gold-in-soil anomaly with higher values than those from the resource area - 76% of the soil samples returned highly anomalous gold values above 100ppb gold up to a maximum of 3.1 g/t gold in soils.
