Flynn Gold (ASX:FG1) is an Australian-based mineral exploration company targeting gold in two emerging gold camps – WA’s Pilbara region and northeast Tasmania – where it has established 100% owned projects. The company aims to create shareholder value through exploration and discovery of gold at these projects.
Flynn Gold controls two projects in the WA Pilbara region. These projects comprise a combined six tenements within an emerging and highly sought-after gold camp. The Shay Gap project comprises three tenement applications along strike from the historic Goldsworthy mining district west of Port Hedland. The Mt Dove project features a granted tenement south of De Grey Mining’s (ASX: DEG) Hemi gold discovery and two applications to the south-west of Hemi in WA’s Pilbara region. Both regions have received limited exploration but have excellent access to mining infrastructure.
Flynn Gold has also identified two priority targets in an underexplored region in Tasmania, which has strong geological similarities to Victoria’s Goldfields. Flynn’s Golden Ridge and Portland projects span across a 1,134km2 landholding. The seven, 100% owned tenements which are contained within this region, have given Flynn Gold a dominant position in the region, with potential to continue expansion.
The Golden Ridge Project has shown clear potential to host a multi-million-ounce bulk tonnage gold deposit, with similarities to intrusive related gold systems such as the 5Moz Fort Knox in Alaska and Red 5’s King of the Hills deposit in WA which has a resource of 4Moz+. The Company has commenced diamond drilling at its flagship Golden Ridge Project where it is targeting Intrusive Related Gold System (IRGS) style mineralisation.
The Portland gold project lies within a historic goldfield mined from 1870 to 1917 and is interpreted to be an analogy to the Victorian geology with high-grade “Fosterville-style” gold mineralisation confirmed. It has more than 20km of strike potential with multiple exploration targets, and Flynn has completed geophysics and rock and soil surveys to better understand the geology.
At the board level, Flynn Gold boasts some of the most trusted names in the sector.
