Bastion Minerals (ASX:BMO) is an Australian listed exploration company focused on discovering high-grade precious and base metals deposits within the mineral-rich Atacama Region of Chile. Bastion’s strategy is to apply cutting-edge exploration to make multiple discoveries on its highly prospective Capote Gold, Cometa Copper-Gold and Garin Copper Projects, which have had no modern exploration.
Early exploration at the Capote Gold Project (geophysical data as well as rock chip sampling) has identified a broad gold system which extends over a strike length of over 2.5km from the San Juan Gold Mine (historical production 0.5Moz @ 40g/t). Regional rock chip sampling has also provided evidence of extensive, widespread surface high-grade copper-silver-lead-zinc mineralisation. The rock chip sampling programs at Capote have returned peak values of 16.45g/t gold, 5.53% copper, 81.3g/t silver, 14.25% lead, and 3.9% zinc.
Airborne magnetics surveys and rock chip sampling conducted at the Cometa Copper Project, located south of Hot Chili’s Productora and Cortadera, has identified multiple zones of high-grade copper associated with regional Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG) related mineralisation. The rock chip sampling programs at Cometa have returned peak values of 4.42% copper, 8.14g/t gold, and 109g/t silver.
Detailed mapping is underway in preparation for trenching and drilling in Q3, 2021 at both projects.
Garin Silver Project
At the Garin Silver Project basic rock-chip sampling and geological mapping have previously been conducted with the Company having recently completed airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys. The program has identified multiple large-scale copper porphyry signatures at the Garin Project with the new data highlighting large scale alteration zones associated with existing high-grade epithermal silver and gold surface samples. Field campaigns are currently underway to collect surface samples and expand known mineralisation at Garin with results expected shortly.
