A former successful investment banker and international rugby player, Mr Welborn has been a Director of the World Gold Council and is currently the President of RugbyWA and a current Trustee of the JP Stratton Charitable Trust. As Executive Chairman of Fenix, John is leading a motivated team who are transforming Western Australia’s Mid-West in growing an integrated mining, logistics, and port services business.
Mr Welborn is a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and holds memberships of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
