Katie Jackson

Katie was previously President of National Grid Ventures in the United Kingdom, where she was member of the Group Executive Committee responsible for the development, financing, construction and operation of large-scale energy assets, including electricity interconnectors, LNG storage and regasification, onshore wind and solar generation, and competitive transmission.

Katie has extensive experience at international executive level across the energy sector. She started in the industry at Shell in 1994 as a Drilling Engineer, followed by five years in corporate finance with UBS based in London and Houston, Texas. After roles at Anadarko and Equinor, where she ran Development and Production operations in Europe and Asia, Katie joined BG Group as Executive Vice President (EVP) for Global Business Development and Strategy. On re-joining Shell through the merger with BG in 2016, Katie was subsequently promoted to EVP, Acquisition, Divestment and New Business Development leading a single new business and deal making group with global responsibility across all businesses: Integrated Gas & Renewables, Upstream, and Downstream.

Katie holds a master’s degree in Pure & Applied Biology from Oxford University. She was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the specialist engineering group IMI in July 2018 and short-listed as an ‘NED to watch’ in the 2021 Non-Executive Director Awards. From May 2022 to April 2025, Katie was Chair of POWERful Women, a cross-industry initiative working to increase the representation of women at the top of the UK energy industry.

Katie is based in London, where she lives with her family.
