As an executive leader in mining and engineering with more than 15 years’ experience, tertiary qualifications in Finance, Investments, Mechanical Engineering and Chemistry, my commitment is to manage all functions beyond the mine site to ensure profitability. Overall, my focus is on the financial performance of an independent resources company.
The Curragh mine is situated 200 km west of Rockhampton in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. Curragh is a well-respected mine, known for its scale, complexity, and our quality product. It produces metallurgical coal for export markets and supplies steaming coal to the Queensland Government’s Stanwell Corporation.
The art of a metallurgical coal business involves knowing the resource, as well as buyers and what drives value for them. I set up the process to control how the resource is extracted and processed, to deliver the right products at the right time and the right price.
I combine theoretical analysis with real-world financial and technical skills, and experience of direct accountability for the business profit and loss.
